AdEspresso alternatives: tools for creating, testing and reporting on ads

AdEspresso builds, split tests and optimizes Facebook and Instagram ads, with client approval and PDF reports. Which alternative fits depends on whether you need to create ads, automate them, or only report on them.

TL;DR

  • The closest AdEspresso alternatives for creating and launching ads with rules are Madgicx (Meta) and Birch (Meta, Google, Snapchat, TikTok); for rules alone, Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads include their own; for read-only reporting across Meta, Google and Snapchat with approved organic publishing, overads fits, but it does not create, test or change ads.
  • AdEspresso's published plans on October 6, 2026 were Starter at $49 a month with a $1,000 monthly spend limit, Plus at $99 a month with unlimited spend, and Enterprise from $259 a month, each with a 14-day free trial.
  • AdEspresso's Create tour and pricing FAQ name Facebook and Instagram as its channels.
  • AdEspresso lets anyone approve a campaign, even without an AdEspresso account, on the Plus plan and above.
  • If you need client sign-off on Facebook and Instagram ads before they run, AdEspresso remains the better fit.

What AdEspresso does, and what it costs

AdEspresso is a Facebook and Instagram ad creation and testing tool. Its Create tour says it supports Facebook and Instagram campaign creation, split testing of creative and audiences, and bulk ad building from a spreadsheet with its Grid Composer. Its Manage tour says Optimization Rules can raise or lower a budget and pause ads. Its Analyze tour describes a drag-and-drop PDF report builder with white label reports, and the main tour says reports can arrive by email every day, week or month. On its Collaborate tour, AdEspresso says you can request campaign approval from anyone, even someone without an AdEspresso account.

AdEspresso alternatives compared

AdEspresso alternatives differ mainly in two ways: which ad platforms they cover, and whether they create and change ads or only read them.

Madgicx and Birch: creation plus automation

Madgicx and Birch both create ads and run rules, which makes them the nearest AdEspresso alternatives for teams that build campaigns in bulk. Madgicx’s Ad Launcher is presented as a way to launch many Facebook ads at once, and the Madgicx Academy says its automations can pause or start ads and change budgets. The Madgicx pricing page prices by monthly ad spend, from $45 a month below $1,000 of spend. More detail is in our Madgicx alternatives guide.

Birch’s features page lists bulk launching of ad sets with up to 50 ads each, post boosting and rules across Meta, Google, Snapchat and TikTok, and its Stage page says Stage creates Meta, Snapchat and TikTok ads. The Birch pricing page also prices by ad spend, with rules on the Pro plan. Our Birch alternatives guide covers its plans.

Native rules in Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads

If AdEspresso’s Optimization Rules are the part you rely on, the platforms’ own rules may cover it. Meta’s automated rules check campaigns, ad sets and ads and then update them or notify you, and Google Ads automated rules can change ad status, budgets and bids. Each works only inside its own platform.

overads: reporting and organic publishing, not ad creation

overads replaces the reporting side of AdEspresso, not the ad building. The overads ads dashboard reads Meta Ads and Google Ads down to the ad and Snapchat Ads at account level, and overads reports can be emailed daily or weekly or shared by a link that opens without a login. overads does not create, split test, pause or re-budget ads: Meta declined its ads_management request at App Review on July 28, 2026, and its Google and Snapchat connections only read. Our post on ads_management vs ads_read explains why that line exists.

Where overads does add something is organic social. overads Publish posts to X, LinkedIn (profiles and Company Pages), Bluesky, Mastodon and Pinterest, and a scheduled post can be held until a teammate approves it. It does not post to Facebook or Instagram today. See our guide to social media approval workflow tools for how that approval compares.

When to choose AdEspresso instead

  • You build and split test Facebook and Instagram ads and want them in one place with optimization rules. overads cannot create or change ads.
  • Clients must approve a campaign before it runs, including clients without an account. AdEspresso offers that on Plus and above.
  • You send clients white label PDF reports. overads reports are shared by link and are not white label.

Frequently asked questions

Is AdEspresso part of Hootsuite?

AdEspresso's press page carries the February 7, 2017 announcement that Hootsuite acquired it. Its site footer names AdEspresso LLC.

Does AdEspresso support Google Ads?

Its current Create tour and pricing FAQ name Facebook and Instagram for campaign creation and analytics, and we found no current product page that claims Google Ads. Its Manage tour still mentions three advertising channels, so confirm with AdEspresso if Google matters to you.

Can overads get a client's sign-off on an ad before it runs?

No. overads does not create ads in an ad account, so there is nothing for a client to approve there. Its approval step covers organic posts scheduled through Publish.
